What settled it for us was the base. Under the housing sits a 240-gram weight, and the rubber feet below it grab a desk mat or bare wood hard enough that fast flicks do not walk the bungee toward the edge of the pad. Across every desk we used it on, it never moved, which is the one thing a bungee has to get right and the thing most of them get wrong.
The arm is adjustable, so the cord can leave at whatever angle you set, and the clip is built for rubber, braided, and paracord cables. Braided is the test case, because thick sheathing either will not seat in a tight slot or slides out of a loose one, and this one took it without a fight.
You feel the difference at the end of a swipe. With the cord lifted, the mouse stops pulling at the moment you cross the pad instead of snagging on the desk edge, and small corrections stop costing a little extra force. We keep the arm low, close to the cable's natural height, and that is where it does the most work.
It is a desktop fixture rather than a travel piece: the heft that keeps it planted is not heft you want in a backpack. The rest of the time it disappears into the setup, which is the best thing a desk accessory can do.
Pros
- 240-gram weighted base stays planted
- Spring arm fits rubber, braided, and paracord
- Anti-slip feet grip mats and bare wood
- Compact frame leaves mousemat room
Cons
- Premium price for a bungee
- No USB pass-through or hub
We recommend the Razer V3 Chroma to anyone who wants a wired mouse to feel wireless: the base never budges and the arm takes whatever cable you thread through it.
