The 10.1-inch screen is the first thing that changes the job. At 1280 x 800, it has enough room for a map, the remaining route, and a split weather panel without making you squint at a junction diagram. We think that extra real estate is the OTR1010's strongest argument: you can check the next turn and the wind band in one glance, then get your eyes back on the road. The powered magnetic mount also makes it easy to pull the unit off the cradle at a stop, which matters more than it sounds when you are in and out of the truck all day.
The routing tools are built for the last mile as much as the highway. BirdsEye satellite imagery shows loading docks, truck entrances, and security gates from above, and the route planner lets you line up fuel, breaks, and overnight stops before you roll. We appreciate that the OTR1010 keeps those arrival views on a screen big enough to read without zooming. That is the difference between a GPS that just gives directions and one that helps you plan a legal, predictable day.
The size is also the catch. A 10-inch body and 1.2 pounds of hardware need windshield space, and in a narrow cab the unit can crowd your line of sight if you mount it carelessly. Mount it low and to the side, and check that it does not block the mirror or airbag. If your windshield is already tight, the smaller OTR720 is the more sensible fit.
What settled it for us was the combination of a genuinely readable screen and arrival tools we actually use. The OTR1010 is not subtle, and that is the point: the screen is big because the job is busy.

For long-haul drivers who want the clearest view of a legal route, the dēzl OTR1010 is the truck GPS we recommend first.
